Radio Access Networks Engineer

For our client, international leader in Telecommunication, we are looking for candidates for Radio Access Networks Engineer position.
Position: Radio Access Networks Engineer

This job is located within the Global Network Operations Center (GNOC) - a centralized organization that provides real-time, cross-domain proactive network-wide troubleshooting, incident management, network maintenance, network security and network control for multi technology, multiservice and multi-vendor networks.
GNOC Engineers use their technical skills and knowledge of processes, systems and procedures to assure maximum network availability. The engineer provides troubleshooting, incident management, release/configuration management and regular maintenance tasks, as well as escalation management. This effort is directed at recognizing and resolving technical problems associated with these customer's networks, systems and services.
Main responsibilities: The Radio Access Network Engineer is responsible for customers’ BSS/UTRAN Service Fulfillment and remote network management, including but not limited to: integration, configuration, re-homing & re-parenting, data build production & maintenance, preventive maintenance, 24/7 on call Service Assurance remote support and other specific level 2 activities.
He/She assists field personnel in integrating/configuring network sites and is responsible for immediate troubleshooting during field support operations. PDH/SDH Configuration and Integration is also in the scope of duties. Key Accountabilities include 2nd level Incident and Problem Management for Radio Access Network elements, configuration management, proactive maintenance (regular tasks), corrective maintenance (including on-call - 24/7) and software rollout management (maintenance & new software releases).
The position requires university degree in the field of telecommunications, electronics, computer science or relevant experience; experience in maintenance, operations and/or technical support activities; good knowledge in one or several of the following suppliers’ equipments: Alcatel-Lucent, ZTE, Ericsson, NSN, Huawei; working knowledge of the following technologies: IP, Ethernet, ATM, PDH and SDH (2G and 3G transmission and signalling); knowledge of AAL2 and AAL5 - transmission medium/signalling medium, specifically for ATM and experience with E1/T1 links configuration and provisioning. Ideal candidate will have good English language skills in speaking and writing, knowledge of German language will be a strong advantage. Analytical mindset with good problem solving skills and
ability to prioritize tasks and apply time management principles are also desirable.
